What does it look like to acknowledge the anxiety and fear of our current world situation, while also finding the motivation to take action? Well, the B-I-B-L-E might have some hints for us.

Have you ever heard of the Wise Woman of Abel Beth-Maacah? Yeah, neither had we. She has a lot to say, though, about resistance to militarism and violence. Who are some wise women in your life? 2 Samuel 20:15-22.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendago had the strength to stand up and protest because they knew their Why. Do you know yours? Daniel 3:1-16.

Content consideration: discussions of violence, torture, and death.

Rizpah, from 2 Samuel, protected the bodies of her sons who had been murdered. She protests by fending off birds and animals until her sons are given a proper burial. 2 Samuel 3:7, 21:8-14.

Rev. Dr. Irie Session suggests that the story of Daniel could placed in the Bible for a reason other than to show the survival of one man from the death-dealing bite of lions. Why might it be in the Bible then? Let’s listen and see what she has to say. Daniel 6:10-18.

In our ongoing series about people from the Bible who resisted, today we learn about Jael and the tent peg. Have you heard that one before? You don’t wanna miss it. Judges 4:4, 8-9; 17-22.

Paul resisted being a scapegoat, resisted being on the DL, and spoke truth to power. Acts 16:35-40.

Katie’s back! And she’s finishing up the series Irie started, with our last resistance figure from the Bible: Jesus! (Of course.) The Beatitudes. They resist just about everything, don’t they?
