Galileo Church

We seek and shelter spiritual refugees, rally health for all who come, and fortify every tender soul with the strength to follow Jesus into a life of world-changing service.

OUR MISSIONAL PRIORITIES:

1. We do justice for LGBTQ+ humans, and support the people who love them.

2. We do kindness for people with mental illness and in emotional distress, and celebrate neurodiversity.

3. We do beauty for our God-Who-Is-Beautiful.

4. We do real relationship, no bullshit, ever.

5. We do whatever it takes to share this good news with the world God still loves.

The Tech Stuff

The process for actually getting our livestream on your screen and in your speakers varies depending on what kind of tech you have. Below are some examples of how you might do it. We tried to be as exhaustive as possible, but there is always one more unique circumstance. If you think you don’t have the tech, don’t worry. An android or iPhone and a simple monitor can do it with only a $30 device (that we are happy to buy for you!). Don’t see your contingency? Let us know! We are always happy to help you figure out a way, or learn what you have figured out so we can add it here to help others.

Smart TV

If you have a smart TV, it might have a web surfer already on it. Get out your remote and use those arrow keys to carefully type galileochurch.org/livestream into your browser. And boom! You’re there! Are you really?! That was way too easy.

Your smart TV also might have screen mirroring: the capacity to display what is on your phone, laptop, or tablet via Bluetooth. In your TV settings, turn on screen mirroring. On your computer or laptop, turn on Bluetooth and connect to your TV. Then go to galileochurch.org/livestream, and under “display options,” you should be able to cast to your TV.

Plain Old TV /Monitor w/ speakers

If you just have a plain old TV/monitor with speakers for viewing, and you have a…

…laptop for streaming, you’ll need an HDMI cable to connect the two. IMPORTANT: some laptops do not have HDMI ports! If you have a MacBook, you’ll need this adapter.

…desktop for streaming, you’ll need an HDMI cable, as well as a mouse and a keyboard! Don’t forget!

…an android phone for streaming, we recommend Chromecast. Plug it into the TV HDMI port, and plug your phone cable into the micro-USB port, and voila!

…an iPhone for streaming, we recommend this converter. Plug it into the TV HDMI port, and plug your phone cable into the lightning port, and voila!

Navigate to galileochurch.org/livestream on the laptop, or on the computer using the TV screen as a monitor, or on the phone. It should display on the TV screen! Boo-yah! Make the video full-screen,orleave it as-is to see the chat in the sidebar

If you have a plain of TV/monitor without speakers, you will need all of the above, plus a speaker! This one is super cheap, and can connect to your laptop or computer via the USB port (still on the MacBook? You’ll need another adapter).
